Though Jersey Shore with a 3.1 adults 18-49 trailed the season premieres of The Mentalist (3.4 adults 18-49 rating), and Private Practice (3.2) it wasn't by much. And that 3.1 bested Bones, Fringe, My Generation, Vampire Diaries, Nikita, 30 Rock, Community and The Apprentice!
But against more broadcast competition the second episodes of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia and The League dipped from their premieres. "Sunny" from a 1.4 adults 18-49 rating to a 1.0 and The League down big from a 1.1 to a 0.6.
Project Runway slipped a bit more, down to a 1.2 rating adults 18-49 rating from a 1.4 last week and a 1.5 the week before.

What happened to Sunny and The League? These past 2 weeks haven’t been the greatest eps. but I would have expected better retention. Who to blame? Jersey Shore?

The 5.4/22 T12-17 is still troubling. So much for the excuse “It’s a 10 o’clock show.
my guess is the return of broadcast and a lot more new TV to watch the past week in general (not just last night). Jersey Shore was a repeat last week, but it’s last original Thursday episode pulled a 3.3 (and that was against an NFL kickoff game), so on a percentage basis it was only down 6%,
It also beat CHUCK!

If Jersey Shore aired on Mondays the headline for the Monday Cable ratings no doubt would have been “Jersey Shore Beats Chuck”

It looks like Jersey Shore beat quite a few Network shows that were on this week. But the only one in direct competition that it beat was The Apprentice.

Will Americans ever tire of these trashy reality series? Ugh.
What happened to posting Stan Lee’s Superhumans? It aired a new episode last night but no ratings post. Last week it got 1.679, is that enough for a 2nd season? Its a cool show.

Most of our successful “trashy reality series” were born abroad. That’s not the case with Jersey Shore, but make no mistake, the popularity of trashy reality is a worldwide phenomenon and the USA doesn’t have a corner on that market.
