when will the ratings for boardwalk empire be up? And how come hbo shows get like 3 times the ratings than showtime. Bc dexter should easily be a 4 5 million rating show imo

If HBO issues a press release, we may see the numbers today. If not, tomorrow afternoon, unless Nielsen’s delay affects Sunday’s cable ratings, too.

As for HBO vs Showtime, HBO is in nearly 10 million more homes than Showtime. (That estimate is from Dec 2009, so it may have changed, but likely not by much.)

  11. Do Dexter fans honestly believe seasons three and four are better than one and two?

Something like 18 million showtime subscribers vs. 41 million HBO subscribers

  14. Especially season four is maybe the best one in the series as a whole. Starting with a GREAT role by Litgow and finishing with one of the most shocking finales in recent years, all in all – great season.

The numbers for Showtime can be close to reality, but in no way HBO hasd 41 subscribers. Actually, a month ago it was reported that HBO actually lost a tiny number of subscribers this year.

Manny Coto from Enterprise & 24 is sure to screw up this season.

So this is just Cinemax subscribers and HBO subscribers added together to fluff their numbers since I imagine most homes have both?

Season 3 is the weakest of the seasons, I would agree, but Season 4 is definitely in the top 2 if not #1, especially when you rewatch it and you pick up on the meaning of all of Trinity’s actions which at first were puzzling. I applaud the showrunners’ effort to plan out the season arc in advance instead of making it up as they go along like other shows.
