For the 2009/2010 Season Network Continues to Double Hispanic Audience of Spanish-Language Cable Competitors Among Key Demos in Primetime and Total Day


MIAMI, FL, SEPTEMBER 28, 2010 – Galavisión, the undisputed leader among Spanish-language cable networks continues to rank #1 in Spanish-language Primetime (M-Sun 7pm-11pm) and Total Day (M-Sun 7am-2am), doubling the Hispanic audience of other Spanish-language cable competitors  among Total Hispanic Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Persons 12-34 for the 2009/2010 Season.

Galavisión’s consistent performance as the number one Spanish-language cable network season after season is very exciting,” said Sebastian Trujillo, senior vice president and operating manager, Galavisión. “It’s a testament to our continued effort to provide viewers with a variety of high quality programming they connect with.”

Program Highlights:

  • Galavisión’s successful return of the morning show “Hoy” (Today, M-F, 10am-12:30pm) has resulted in a +109% increase on Total Viewers 2+ and a +148% increase on Adults 18-49 versus last year’s time period average.
  • Galavisión’s “Sabias Que” (How it Works, M-Sat, 11-11:30pm) had a very successful run in primetime this season with a 196,000 Total Viewers 2+ and 127,000 Adults 18-49.
  • Galavisión has two of the top ten sports telecasts on Total Hispanic Viewers 2+ and Hispanic Adults 18-49 in Spanish-language cable this season:

o   The Santos/Morelia FLM game (11/22/09) delivered 819,000 on Total Hispanic Viewers 2+ and 612,000 on Hispanic Adults 18-49.

o   The Queretaro/Guadalajara FLM game (2/5/10) delivered 700,000 on Total Hispanics Viewers 2+ and a 437,000 on Hispanic Adults 18-49.

  • Galavisión remains a key source for news:

o   “Noticiero con Joaquín López-Dóriga” (News with Joaquín López-Dóriga, M-F, 11:30pm-12:30am) is averaging 208,000 on Total Viewers 2+  (+45% vs. last year) and 126,000 on Adults 18-49  (+56% vs. last year).

o   “Noticiero con Lolita Ayala” (News with Lolita Ayala, M-F, 4:30-5:00pm) is averaging 121,000 on Total Viewers 2+ (+6% vs. last year) and 75,000 on Adults 18-49 (+17% vs. last year).

o   “Noticiero con Paola Rojas” (News with Paola Rojas, M-F, 5:00-6:00pm) is averaging 174,000 on Total Viewers 2+ (+5% vs. last year) and 110,000 on Adults 18-49  (+15% vs. last year).

o   “Primero Noticias” (News First, M-F 7:00-10:00am) is averaging 151,000 on Total Viewers 2+ (+30% vs. last year) and 109,000 on Adults 18-49 (+40% vs. last year).

o   “Las Noticias por Adela” (News by Adela, M-F 10-11pm) remains a key source for news this season averaging 197,000 on Total Viewers 2+, a 26% increase over last season and 118,000 on Adults 18-49 (+30% vs. last year).
