Fox yanked Lone Star after two episodes, ABC did the same with My Generation.
Which show is next to be pulled off the air?
The Contenders:
- The Whole Truth - Ratings have been as bad as My Generation. But the fact that ABC has yanked one drama already may slow the hook for the second. Or not.
- Outlaw - Production has been stopped after eight episodes. But if all eight episodes air in the current timeslot, it's probably not the next show yanked. However, with November sweeps coming up (which are important to local ratings), expect affiliates to whine about weak 10pm shows.
- Running Wilde - Rescheduling its half hour slot is tricky for Fox this early in the season. But it's already being pre-empted on October 26. Will it be back afterwards?
- None of the Above - Is there a dark horse out there? I don't try and guess the future of unscripted shows, but you could make a case for The Apprentice.
Let's make the guess which show is pulled out of its current timeslot first, regardless of whether it gets burned off elsewhere later.
I'll wager the half hour slot gives Fox a pause, and NBC still is in "Hollywood image rehab mode" and will want to keep a drama on as long as possible, so I'll guess The Whole Truth.
Feel free to explain your guess in the comments. Bonus points for guessing when the announcement happens.
