CBS Tops Week’s Ratings Race Again, ABC Finishes Second

With a victory margin boosted by a one hour Sunday NFL overrun, CBS stayed on top of the ratings race in week 3 of the broadcast primetime season averaging a 3.0 adults 18-49 rating. ABC was well back in second place with a 2.5 adults 18-49 rating, while NBC and Fox tied for third with a 2.4 rating.

CBS again topped the press release friendly average viewership for the week.

English broadcast network ratings semi-cumulative ratings: The sum of the 5 English networks adults 18-49 ratings averages for the week (not a true average), was down 6% compared with the sum for week 3 of the 2009-10 season.

The network’s average viewership is charted in millions of viewers, just like we report all other average viewership information on the site, and adults 18-49 is charted as ratings points. Note the units (million viewers on the left, rating on the right) below the bars.

Each adults 18-49 rating point is a percentage of the adults 18-49 US TV population and equals 1.315 million adults 18-49.
