“RATINGS FOR ABC’S “GOOD MORNING AMERICA”

“GMA” Only Morning Program to Grow Total Viewers Year to Year

“GMA” Cuts Both Demo and Total Viewing Gaps with NBC’s “Today”

Week to Week and Year to Year;

“GMA” Expands Total Viewing Advantage Over CBS Week to Week and Year to Year;

and Grows Demo Lead Week to Week

For the week of October 18th, ABC’s “Good Morning America” averaged 4.260 million Total Viewers and a 1.3/10 among Adults 25-54.

Once again, “GMA” was the only program to display Total Viewer growth (+3%) among the three morning programs versus the same week last year. Both NBC’s “Today” and CBS’ “Early Show” declined. “GMA” was the only morning program to maintain its total viewing audience week to week while “Today” and “Early Show” both lost -2%.

“GMA” narrowed both the demo and total viewing gaps with “Today” week to week (A25-54: -1% and P2+: -10%) and year to year (A25-54: -11% and P2+: -41%).  This is the smallest weekly total viewing gap between the two programs since July. Additionally, ABC’s weekly demo (540,000) and total viewing (1,620,000) leads over “Early Show” were +13% and +3% larger, respectively. Versus last year, ABC’s total viewing lead over CBS grew +17%.

The Emmy Award-winning morning news program, featuring the anchor team of Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Sam Champion and Juju Chang, airs live Monday through Friday from 7:00-9:00 a.m., ET on the ABC Television Network. Jim Murphy is the senior executive producer and Tom Cibrowski is the executive producer of ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

Please note: George Stephanopoulos broadcasted from Chicago on Wednesday, 10/20/10 and from Philadelphia on Thursday, 10/21/10.
