MSNBC UPDATED 2010 ELECTION COVERAGE
MSNBC'S COMPREHENSIVE POLITICAL COVERAGE KICKS OFF THIS WEEKEND AND CONTINUES THROUGH NOV. 3
Special Live Primetime Programming on Sunday, October 31
NEW YORK – October 29, 2010 – Leading up to the 2010 mid-term elections, MSNBC will present comprehensive political coverage throughout the weekend and continuing through November 3.
On Saturday, October 30, MSNBC will offer extended live coverage throughout the day. From 9 - 10 am ET, Chuck Todd anchors “The Place for Politics 2010 – Midterm Madness, ” an in-depth look at the nation’s closest races with everything viewers need to prepare for election day. Live news coverage continues through 5 pm ET. The "Hardball" documentary "Rise of the New Right" will re-air at 7 pm ET.
MSNBC’s program schedule for Sunday, October 31 is as follows (all times Eastern):
9 am – The Daily Rundown (live)
10 am to 12 pm – Jansing and Co
12 pm – The Place for Politics 2010 – Midterm Madness anchored by Chuck Todd
1 pm – Andrea Mitchell Reports (live)
2 pm – Meet the Press (as scheduled)
3 pm – The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell (live)
4 pm – The Dylan Ratigan Show (live)
5 pm – Hardball with Chris Matthews (live)
6 pm – The Ed Show (live) from Woodbury, Minnesota at an event for Michele Bachmann’s Democratic challenger Tarryl Clark. Clark will join Ed on set.
7 pm – Hardball with Chris Matthews (re-air of 5p show)
8 pm – Countdown with Keith Olbermann (live)
9 pm – The Rachel Maddow Show (live)
10 pm – The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell (re-air of 3p show)
On Tuesday, November 2, MSNBC’s “The Daily Rundown” will air from 9:00-11a ET. MSNBC will offer all-night election coverage from 6 pm to 6 am ET. Evening coverage will be led by Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O'Donnell and MSNBC contributor Eugene Robinson from election headquarters in New York. Ed Schultz, host of the "Ed Show" will report live from Las Vegas, covering the hotly contested Harry Reid-Sharron Angle Senate race. As control of Congress hangs in the balance, MSNBC will bring viewers results and analysis from key races across the country, with additional commentary from Michelle Bernard, Pat Buchanan, Howard Fineman, Harold Ford, Mark Halperin, Maria Teresa Kumar, and Richard Wolffe. Tentative guests for the night include DNC Chairman Tim Kaine, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN), and Gov. Ed Rendell. Chris Jansing picks up result coverage overnight and will be joined at the anchor desk by Willie Geist at 5:30 am ET.
MSNBC's extraordinary coverage of the 2010 mid-terms continues on Wednesday, November 3 with "Morning Joe" (6 am – 9 am ET) live from historic studio 8H in 30 Rock in front of a studio audience. Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski, and Willie Geist will be joined in studio by Tom Brokaw, Mike Barnicle, Pat Buchannan, Harold Ford Jr., Mark Halperin, John Heilemann, Chris Matthews, Jon Meacham, Peggy Noonan, Lawrence O’Donnell, Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, Eugene Robinson, Chuck Todd, and Nicolle Wallace. Special guest music legend Elvis Costello will join the “Morning Joe” team for a live, acoustic performance.
Chuck Todd and Savannah Guthrie will anchor a two-hour “The Daily Rundown” (9 am – 11 am ET) to continue analysis of the mid-term election results.
