TCM Introduces Line of Customizable Products Inspired by Upcoming
Documentary Series MOGULS & MOVIE STARS: A HISTORY OF HOLLYWOOD
Fans of classic movies can put their cinematic passion on full display with a new line of unique products from Turner Classic Movies (TCM). Inspired by TCM’s landmark, seven-part documentary series MOGULS & MOVIE STARS: A HISTORY OF HOLLYWOOD, the customizable product line includes apparel, tote bags, mugs and more. The products are available for purchase through the new MOGULS & MOVIE STARS online store http://tcm.com/moguls, which openstoday in conjunctionwith the premiere of the series. For this initiative, TCM is partnering with online retailer Zazzle.
The MOGULS & MOVIE STARS product line incorporates quotations from some of Hollywood’s greatest figures, including Louis B. Mayer (“If a story makes me cry, I know it’s good.”); Adolph Zukor (“If I’d known I was going to live this long, I’d have taken better care of myself.”); Mary Pickford (“This thing we call ‘failure’ is not the falling down but the staying down.”); Charlie Chaplin (“Life is a beautiful magnificent thing, even to a jelly fish.”); and David O. TCM’s new product line is the network’s latest initiative tied to the expansive documentary series MOGULS & MOVIE STARS. The network previously announced a multimedia exhibit traveling to five cities across the country. Inspired by the series, the exhibit features interactive displays on the history of American filmmaking, as well as unique memorabilia, including an OscarÒ statuette for Casablanca (1942), a dress worn by Vivien Leigh in Gone with the Wind (1939) and a costume worn by MOGULS & MOVIE STARS narrator Christopher Plummer in the Oscar-winning film The Sound of Music (1965). The exhibit traveled to Atlanta (Oct. 18-20 at Phipps Plaza) and New York (Oct. 25-26 at Grand Central Terminal), and will travel to Denver (Nov. 4-6, during the Denver Film Festival at King Center); San Francisco (Nov. 11-12 at Embarcadero Center); and Los Angeles (Nov. 18-20 at The Grove).
