DVR Viewing Boosts Fall Premieres of USA’s ‘Psych’ & ‘Burn Notice’

DVR viewing boosted the fall premieres of Psych and Burn Notice by more than 45% with adults 18-49.  The November 10 premiere of Psych (“Extradition II”) saw lift of of 46% going from 1.355 million adults 18-49  in the live plus same day (Live+SD) rating to 1.985 million adults 18-49 in the live plus seven day ratings (Live+7).  That’s a jump from a 1.0 rating to a 1.5 rating.  It also saw big gains (46%) with adults 18-34, going from 777,000 Live+SD to 1.138 million Live+7.  It jumped 44% with total viewers jumping from 2.785 million to 4.009 million.

Burn Notice’s fall premiere the next day (November 11, “Eyes Open”) saw a 47% gain with adults 18-49, from 1.978 million Live+SD  to 2.872 million Live+7.  That’s a jump from a 1.5 adults 18-49 rating to a 2.2 rating.   Burn Notice also picked up 38% with adults 18-34, from 1.089 million to 1.501 million. Total viewers jumped 42% from 4.317 million to 6.133 million.

The L7 lifts for the Psych Premiere on 11/10 (Extradition II)

    • P18-49: +46% going from 1355 to 1985. Summer 2010 average lift = +43% / 1Q10 = +48%
    • P25-54: +51%, from 1214 to 1834. Summer avg = +42% / Winter avg = + 49%
    • P18-34: +46% from 777 to 1138. Summer avg = +36% / Winter avg = + 42%
    • P2+: +44%, from 2785 to 4009. Summer avg = +33% / Winter avg = + 40%

L7 lifts for Burn Notice on 11/11 (“Eyes Open”)

    • P18-49: +47% going from 1978 to 2900. Summer avg = +40% / Winter avg = + 43%
    • P25-54: +50%, from 1917 to 2872. Summer avg = +36% / Winter avg = + 43%
    • P18-34: +38% from 1089 to 1501. Summer avg = +40% / Winter avg = + 39%
    • P2+: +42%, from 4317 to 6133. Summer avg = +29% / Winter avg = + 37%
