Update: Dexter has officially been renewed for a sixth season.
Kristin Dos Santos at E! Online reports that Dexter has been renewed by Showtime for a sixth season and that it's not being billed as a "final" season, leaving season seven an open possibility.
Sunday's Dexter ratings were particularly strong.
