A 27 year old unemployed cabinetmaker from Oregon has legally changed his name from Douglas Allen Smith Jr. to "Captain Awesome" in homage to the character Dr. Devon 'Captain Awesome' Woodcomb played by Ryan McPartlin.
Wrote the New York Post: With "Chuck" on the verge of being canceled every season -- it's now in its fourth -- it's possible that Captain Awesome's name might just stick around longer than the series will.
