“THE NFL ON CBS” SEES HIGHEST AFC VIEWERSHIP IN 23 YEARS
“THE NFL TODAY” Earns Highest Regular-Season Viewership in 12 Years, Up 20%
THE NFL ON CBS averaged the highest viewership for the AFC package in 23 years, as it averaged 18.747 million viewers (Persons 2+), a 9% increase over 2009’s 17.211 million viewers. This year’s 18.747 million viewers is the highest number of average viewers for the full 17 week regular-season for the AFC television package in 23 years. (As far back as CBS records go; 1987).
THE NFL ON CBS earned an average national household/share of 11.1/23, up 7% from last year’s 10.4/22. This year’s11.1/23 is the highest average rating for the full 17 week regular season of the AFC television package in 15 years (1995).
CBS Sports pre-game studio show, THE NFL TODAY, averaged 4.501 million viewers for the 2010 regular-season, up 20% over 2009’s 3.749 million and is the highest number of average viewers for THE NFL TODAY in 12 years (1998).
In addition, through 17 weeks of the season, THE NFL TODAY, earned an average national household rating/share of 2.9/7, up 16%from last year’s 2.5/6 and is the highest average rating for the regular-season since 1999.
