With 2x ‘Sunday Night Football’ NBC Easily Tops Weekly Primetime Ratings
With two Sunday Night Football nights in one week (one on Tuesday) NBC laid a ratings beat down on the mostly repeat and special competition from the rest of the broadcast networks averaging a 2.9 adults 18-49 rating. NBC’s got the NFL wild card round game this Saturday night, so its current week’s ratings should be reasonably good. Then they’re looking at a huge plunge for the rest of the season.
CBS finished well back in second place with a 1.7 rating average, with Fox in third with a 1.6 rating average. ABC again finished fourth among broadcasters with a 1.5 rating average.
With the 2 SNF’s NBC even managed to squeak past CBS for the press release friendly, but advertiser ignored, average viewership for the week.
The network’s average viewership is charted in millions of viewers, just like we report all other average viewership information on the site, and adults 18-49 is charted as ratings points. Note the units (million viewers on the left, rating on the right) below the bars.
Each adults 18-49 rating point is a percentage of the adults 18-49 US TV population and equals 1.315 million adults 18-49.
