RECORD-SETTER: NFL Games Top Local Ratings 90 Percent of Time in 2010
HISTORY-MAKER: NFL Most-Watched Program For All 17 Weeks
NFL Tops Ratings in All 30 Local Markets
NFL games topped ratings in all 30 local markets in Week 17 for the third time in four years as teams made their final pushes for the Playoffs. For the season, NFL games were the highest rated program locally a record 90 percent of the time – topping the mark set last season (89 percent).
The FOX national telecast (mostly Bears-Packers) was the most-watched show among all programs last week with 26.1 million viewers. For the first time, NFL games ranked as the most-watched program in all 17 weeks of the season. NFL games accounted for the 19 most-watched programs on TV in the fall, up from 11 last season.
