‘Spartacus: Gods of the Arena’ Premieres to 1.1 Million

Starz’ Spartacus: Gods of the Arena premiered to 1.097 million on Friday at 10pm on Starz.  The 11p encore drew another 753,000 viewers.   The premiere was up 66% from the premiere of Spartacus: Blood and Sand on January 22, 2010 (659,000) and up 70% based on combined viewing of the 10pm and 11pm encore (1.850 million vs. 1.091 million).

The 1.097 for the premiere telecast, while up 66% from ‘Blood and Sand’s’ premiere, was down 11% from ‘Blood and Sand’s’ finale on April 16, 2010 (1.227 million).

‘Gods of the Arena’ pulled a 0.5 adults 18-49 rating, up from the 0.3 for the ‘Blood and Sand’ premiere, but down .1 from the ‘Blood and Sand’ finale which averaged a 0.6 adults 18-49 rating.
