DVR Playback for the week of 2/07/11 (Week #21):

ABC claimed TV’s Top 2 biggest actual DVR Adult 18-49 gainers from the first-reported numbers to the playback finals with “Modern Family” and “Grey’s Anatomy.” For the 2nd straight week, ABC delivered the #1 television show in DVR playback gains, in the key young adult sales demo: “Modern Family” – #1 (+1.7 rating) and “Grey’s Anatomy” – #2 (+1.4 rating).

  • For the 3rd time this season, the ABC comedy picked up an additional 1.7 rating points over its initial number (+33% – 5.1 rating to a 6.8 rating), again marking the highest for any TV series this season.

  • As a result of DVR playback, Grey’s Anatomy” emerged as TV’s #2 scripted show for the week in Adults 18-49 (5.3), behind “Modern Family” (6.8). Initially in the Live + Same Day statistics, “Grey’s” ranked as TV’s #6 scripted show for the week moving up to #2 based on Nielsen’s final rankings, leapfrogging over Fox’s “Glee,” CBS’ “Two and a Half Men,” Fox’s “House,” CBS’ “NCIS” and CBS’ “The Big Bang Theory.”


  • ABC broadcasted 3 of the week’s Top 8 biggest overall Total Viewer gainers, including the week’s biggest overall gainer: “Modern Family” – #1 (+3.30 million), “Grey’s Anatomy” – #3 (+2.88 million) and “Castle” – #8 (+2.48 million).
