“GMA” Saturday & Sunday Only Network News Programs on Saturday & Sunday to Grow Total Viewing Audience Versus 2010 February Sweep

“GMA Saturday” Posts Second-Smallest Total Viewing Gap in 6 Years Over NBC’s “Saturday Today” For a February Sweep

“Good Morning, America - Saturday” (2/3 – 3/02/11):
For the February 2011 Sweep, “Good Morning, America – Saturday” attracted 3.14 million Total Viewers and 1.22 million Adults 25-54, according to Nielsen Media Research. Since debuting in its current format in September 2004, the ABC program drew is largest-ever overall Total Viewer sweep audience. “GMA Saturday” was up over November 2010 by +15% in Total Viewers and by +11% in Adults 25-54, growing over the previous sweep for the second sweeps period in a row.

Building its Total Viewer count (+2%) year-to-year, “GMA Saturday” stood as the only network news program on Saturday to increase its overall audience from February 2010 (CBS’ “Saturday Early Show” was down by -3%, NBC’s “Saturday Today” was down by -11%). Impressively, “GMA Saturday” gained viewers each year for six straight February sweeps period, beginning in February 2005.

“GMA Saturday” bettered CBS’ “Saturday Early Show” by 1.35 million Total Viewers and by 570,000 Adults 25-54 viewers during the February 2011 sweep, beating the CBS program by its largest margins ever in both Nielsen measures during a sweeps period.

“GMA Saturday” narrowed its margins with “Saturday Today” by -33% in Total Viewers (1.20 million) and by -39% Adults 25-54 (430,000) compared to the February 2010 sweep (1.78 million & 710,000 gaps, respectively). In addition, “GMA” turned in its second-smallest February sweep gap since 2005 in Total Viewers with “Saturday Today.”

“Good Morning, America - Sunday” (2/3 – 3/02/11):
For the February 2011 Sweep, “Good Morning, America – Sunday” drew 2.89 million Total Viewers and 1.05 million Adults 25-54, according to Nielsen Media Research. Since debuting in its current format in September 2004, “GMA Sunday” attracted its largest-ever Total Viewer sweep audience.

“GMA Sunday” was up over November 2010 by +6% in Total Viewers and by +4% in Adults 25-54, building on the prior sweep for the second straight sweeps period.

Increasing in Total Viewers by +7% versus the previous year, “GMA Sunday” qualified as the only network news program on Sunday to improve its Total Viewer count over February 2010 (CBS’ “Sunday Morning” was flat; NBC’s “Sunday Today” was down by -9%).

“GMA Sunday” shrank its margins with “Sunday Today” by -35% in Total Viewers (1.13 million) and by -32% Adults 25-54 (490,000) compared to the February 2010 sweep (1.73 million & 720,000 gaps, respectively).
