In the preliminary numbershosted by Miley Cyrus with musical guest The Strokes tied its second highest of the season with adults 18-49 with a 3.3 adults 18-49 rating in the 25 markets with Local People Meters. That trails only the January 8 telecast which was boosted by having an NFL playoff game as its lead in.
That's also 10% better than the preliminary 3.0 18-49 rating for the show hosted by Russell Brand with musical guest Chris Brown on February 12. As has typically been the case (other than the aforementioned NFL playoff game), SNL was the number one show of the night with adults 18-49, bettering everything in primetime.

- In the 25 Local People Meter markets, “'s” 3.3 matched the show's second-highest 18-49 rating of the season (also earned on February 5 with host Dana Carvey and musical guest Linkin Park), behind only the January 8 telecast, which benefited from a high-rated primetime NFL game on NBC that night.
