NEW YORK, NY –March 8, 2011 – Sunday night’s 8:00 PM* second season finale of Basketball Wives scored a 1.5 in the key P18-49 demo and brought in 2.3 million total viewers to VH1, making it the highest rated episode of “Basketball Wives” to date and the highest rated telecast on VH1 since “VH1 Hip Hop Honors” in October, 2009. It was also the top-rated cable program in the 8:00 PM* timeslot on Sunday night.

Following the huge finale of “Basketball Wives,” the sneak preview of new series “Love and Hip Hop” drew an impressive 1.3 rating in the key P18-49 and brought in 1.9 million total viewers.  VH1's new, 8-part docu-series "Love & Hip Hop" follows five dynamic women who are connected to the world of hip hop, whether it's through the men they love or their struggle to be heard as artists. Catch the women (Chrissy Lampkin, Emily Bustamante, Olivia Longott, and Somaya “Boss” Reese) of “Love and Hip Hop” beginning Monday, March 14th at 10:30PM*.

 

In the second season of VH1’s Basketball Wives,” viewers saw the ladies struggle and succeed with love and relationships. This season Jennifer and Eric questioned if they should remain married, Evelyn found love with a new athlete, Royce let her guard down and finally found love with an unexpected person, while Shaunie and Tami learned that it was time to let go of past hurts and move on with their lives. During the season finale, the past came back to haunt two of the ladies when an explosive secret was revealed causing an emotional fight that ended a friendship and possibly the circle of friends forever.
