For the week of March 7, 2011, ABC’s “Good Morning America” averaged 5.22 million Total Viewers and a 1.6/11/1.96 million in Adults 25-54. Improving on the prior week’s performance for the 3rd consecutive week in both Total Viewers (+4%) and Adults 25-54 (+3%), “GMA” generated its most-watched week in over 4 years – since w/o 2/26/07.

“GMA” improved on its year-ago week deliveries in both Total Viewers (+12%) and Adults 25-54 (+2%), building on its overall audience over the same week last year for the 9th week in a row.

Season to date, “GMA” is up the most among the network morning news program in Total Viewers (+5%) versus its year-ago average (NBC’s “Today” is down -3%, CBS’ “Early Show” is up by less than +1%).

“GMA” narrowed its Total Viewer gap with “Today” versus the previous week (-23% - 720,000 vs. 930,000) and the year-ago week (-23% - 720,000 vs. 930,000).

Generating season-high advantages, “GMA” topped CBS’ “Early Show” by 2.43 million Total Viewers and by 790,000 Adults 25-54 viewers, leading the CBS program with its largest Total Viewer gap in nearly 4 years - since week of 5/21/07.

On 3/11/11, “Good Morning America” turned in its best numbers for any telecast this season in both Total Viewers (5.99 million) and Adults 25-54 (2.38 million). Furthermore, with coverage of the Japan earthquake and tsunami, “GMA” saw its most-watched Friday telecast in nearly 8 years – since 3/21/03.

The Emmy Award-winning morning news program, featuring the anchor team of Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Sam Champion and Juju Chang, airs live Monday through Friday from 7:00-9:00 a.m., ET on the ABC Television Network. James Goldston is the senior executive producer and Tom Cibrowski is the executive producer of ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
