Santa Monica, CA (March 31, 2011) - Dominic “D-Trix” Sandoval, who won dance fans’ hearts in season three when his team, Quest Crew, was crowned America’s Best Dance Crew, returns to MTV’s hit reality dance competition series “Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew” (ABDC), as the newest judge. D-Trix joins returning judges Lil Mama and JC Chasez, and will make his debut when the sixth season premieres April 7 at 10 p.m. ET/ PT on MTV.

“I am so happy that D-Trix is joining the panel having been a part of one of the greatest dance crews ever. He’s going to be one of the best people to give the crews advice because he’s been there; we couldn’t have anyone better qualified” says executive producer Randy Jackson.

D-Trix knows what it takes to be a superstar on the ABDC stage, and will judge the crews on their creativity and ability to incorporate the “Superstar of the Week” into their routines. D-Trix is one of the only ABDC champions to successfully compete on Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance,” making the top eight in season three, and returning as an All-Star in the 2010 cycle. Outside the tours and TV competitions, D-Trix has carved a name for himself as a dance celebrity with his very popular YouTube series, “The Dominic Show.” D-Trix continues to work in all genres of dance with top music industry professionals, including Snoop Dogg, Pitbull, Natasha Bedingfield, Enrique Iglesias, Usher and more.

D-Trix says, “To think I started off dancing on cardboard in my parent’s garage to now being a judge on “America’s Best Dance Crew” is a dream and a complete honor. As someone who has competed on the ABDC stage, I hope to bring another perspective to the judges’ table and I look forward to helping each dance crew recognize their potential on the show this season.”
Season six of “America’s Best Dance Crew” will be the “Season of the Superstars,” and, for the first time ever, each episode will be themed to a popular celebrity artist. Ten new dance crews will have to create dances to master mixes of the artist of the week, incorporating all aspects of the artist’s style — from wardrobe, inspiration and emotion to groundbreaking choreography and skills. Special guest appearances include Ke$ha, Black Eyed Peas, Katy Perry and Justin Bieber, and themed episodes will be inspired by the hottest names in music including Rihanna, Lil Wayne and more!

“America’s Best Dance Crew” is hosted by Mario Lopez and shot on location in Los Angeles as dance crews perform their hottest moves for dance supremacy and a $100,000 cash prize. Every performance-themed episode gives insight into the crews’ emotion, spirit and inspiration as they step up to the challenge and show off their groundbreaking choreography and skills. Viewers from around the country choose their favorite crews via text messaging, phone and online voting. The two crews with the least number of votes will be up for elimination with judges making the final call on which crew will be sent home. One crew will be eliminated each week, ultimately revealing the nation's best dance crew.

“Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew” is executive produced by “American Idol” judge Randy Jackson, Joel Gallen (Tenth Planet Productions), Josh Greenberg (“The Sing Off”), Hip Hop International’s creators Howard Schwartz and Karen Schwartz, Rob Lee (Bayonne Entertainment), Harriet Sternberg and Abe Hoch (both of Dream Merchant 21 Entertainment). Craig Erwich, Brooke Karzen and Drew Tappon are the executives overseeing the project for Warner Horizon Television (“The Bachelor,” “The Bachelorette,” upcoming “The Voice”). Lauren Dolgen and Kristina Edwards are the executives overseeing the project for MTV.

This season MTV and Warner Horizon Television have partnered with GroupMe Featured Groups, which serves as a new way for brands to engage with consumers on a deeper level. Fans that have created an ABDC group will begin receiving timely behind-the-scenes video clips and interviews with the dance crews, as well as episodic photo galleries, insider blog posts from MTV’s Remote Control blog, tune-in reminders and more. Moreover, fans will be able to engage directly with the dance crews each week throughout the course of the season. To reward fans who create an ABDC group and use it to talk with their friends during each weeks’ premiere, a few lucky groups will receive a special guest “visit” each week from one of the crew members. Crew members will chat and answer users’ questions via text, as well as use the GroupMe instant conference call functionality to initiate a voice call to connect fans with the crews even more directly.

“Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew” will also air on MTV2.
