Francis Joins the Cast of the #1 Daytime Drama in May

Daytime Emmy Award winner and soap opera legend Genie Francis will join the #1 daytime drama, THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, in May 2011 on the CBS Television Network.  Francis will be playing the long-lost mother of Ethan “Cane” Ashby (Daniel Goddard), who was killed in a shooting in February but has been haunting the town of Genoa City with his mysterious presence ever since.  Cane’s father, Colin Atkinson, is played by Francis’s former “General Hospital” co-star, Tristan Rogers.

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS has been the #1-rated daytime drama for more than 22 years.  The show is broadcast weekdays (12:30-1:30 PM, ET; 11:00 AM-12:00 Noon, PT) on the CBS Television Network and is produced by Bell Dramatic Serial Company, in association with Sony Pictures Television.
