— TLC Original Docu-movie Premieres Sunday, May 1–
April 12, 2011
(Silver Spring, Md. ) A decade following the tragedy that shocked the nation and dominated newspaper headlines, TLC presents WHO KILLED CHANDRA LEVY?, an original docu-movie based on the real-life events surrounding the murder of the promising 24-year old Capitol Hill intern. Premiering Sunday, May 1 at 9 PM (ET/PT), the television event is a cautionary tale of sex, power, murder – as well as the heartbreaking story of a girl with big dreams who left behind a shattered family.
Weaving together dramatizations with original on-camera interviews, WHO KILLED CHANDRA LEVY? recounts the events to date surrounding Levy’s mysterious case, including her sudden disappearance; the controversial affair with US Representative Gary Condit; investigators’ struggles to identify key evidence; the media frenzy that captivated the nation; the agony of parents struggling to cope with the loss of a child; and finally, the long overdue conviction of Ingmar Guandique. Throughout the special, viewers will hear first hand accounts from those close to the tragic event, including Levy’s Aunt Linda Katz, as well as Scott Higham and Sari Horwitz – the Pulitzer Prize-winning Washington Post journalists who helped break the case – and authors of Finding Chandra: A True Washington Murder Mystery.
WHO KILLED CHANDRA LEVY? is produced by Atlas Media Corp. for TLC. Executive producer for Atlas Media Corp. is Bruce David Klein.
