
Last night's first game of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals was the second highest-rated Washington Capitals playoff game for Comcast SportsNet in the DC market and topped last year's first game of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals by 21%.

- Comcast SportsNet’s coverage of Game 1 of the Capitals-Rangers 2011 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals (April 13) posted a 6.18 average household rating in the Washington DMA, making it the second-highest Capitals rating in network history, behind only Game 7 of last year’s first-round series vs. Montreal (8.10).
- The Game 1 Washington DMA average household rating equates to approximately 145,000 homes, which, when combined to the average Baltimore DMA audience of roughly 34,000 households (2.67), brings the average Game 1 audience to approximately 179,000 area homes.
- Game 1 on Comcast SportsNet earned peak household ratings of 7.85 in the Washington DMA and 3.20 in the Baltimore DMA during overtime, which equates to a combined peak audience of approximately 225,000 area homes.
- The Washington DMA average household rating of 6.18 surpassed Game 1 of the Capitals 2010 opening-round series by 21 percent (5.10), the previous network record for a Game 1, and beat the 2010 seven-game average rating by 16 percent (5.34), the network’s current all-time playoff series mark.
- In key Washington DMA demographics, The Game posted an average rating of 6.36 among Men 25-54, a 5.03 in Adults 25-54 and a 6.35 in Men 18-49, increases versus Game 1 of the 2010 Capitals first-round series of eight percent, 22 percent and 24 percent, respectively.
