NFL Draft First Night Viewership Averages 7 Million, Down 16% From Last Year
The USA Today reports that last night’s first round of the NFL Draft averaged a combined 7 million viewers on ESPN and NFL Network. That’s down 16% from last years 8.6 million average viewers, but still the second most watched NFL Draft in history.
I’m sure plenty will jump on this as a sign of the NFL’s strike induced decline, or some other such leap of logic, but it could simply be something a bit less newsworthy like a less interesting draft class. It’s anybody’s guess.
We should have the full adults 18-49 ratings and viewership breakdown in our regular cable overnight ratings post later today.
