Ratings Notes for TBS, TNT, Cartoon Network, truTV; Including NBA Playoffs, ‘Conan,’ ‘Regular Show,’ ‘All Worked Up’ & More

TNT rode the 2011 NBA Playoffs to victory last week, scoring as basic cable’s #1 network in primetime among adults 18-34 and adults 18-49, as well as in primetime and total day among adults 25-54.
TNT’s First Round action of the NBA Playoffs featured plenty of drama in delivering the most-watched and highest-rated postseason-to-date in cable television history. TNT’s 23 First Round games delivered a 2.7 U.S. household rating (+29% vs. 2.1 last year) and averaged 4,179,000 total viewers (+32% vs. 3,174,000) and 3,091,000 households (+27% vs. 2,430,000).
The 2011 NBA Playoffs coverage on TNT is also delivering strong double-digit growth across all key demos:
Adults 18-34: +38% (1,390,000 vs. 1,008,000)
Adults 18-49: +37% (2,403,000 vs. 1,757,000)
Adults 25-54: +32% (2,128,000 vs. 1,615,000)
Men 18-34: +36% (982,000 vs. 721,000)
Men 18-49: +38% (1,729,000 vs. 1,252,000)
Men 25-54: +34% (1,517,000 vs. 1,133,000)

Adult Swim once again swept all young adult and young male demos for the week, ranking #1 on basic cable for Total Day Delivery of adults and men 18-24 and 18-34. Among the standouts, men 18-34 delivery (324,000) grew by 9%.
Adult Swim telecasts accounted for 14 of the top 50 telecasts of the week on basic cable among adults 18-34 and 17 of the top 50 among men 18-34, both more than any other network.
Cartoon Network’s total day delivery among kids 6-11 (333,000) increased by 8% and kids 9-14 delivery (249,000) increased by 17% over the prior year.
Cartoon Network’s Monday night line-up of original animated comedies—Adventure Time (8 p.m.), MAD (8:15 p.m.), Regular Show (8:30 p.m.) and Problem Solverz (8:45 p.m.)—each ranked #1 in their timeslots on all television among all boy demos: 2-11, 6-11 and 9-14.
Among the Monday night highlights, a new episode of Regular Show earned double and triple-digit ratings and delivery gains among all key kid and boy demos vs. last year’s time period. Kids 6-11 delivery (778,000) grew by 22%, kids 2-11 (955,000) grew by 2% and kids 9-14 (778,000) grew by 115%.
Cartoon Network was the #1 destination for boys 6-11 on Wednesday night from 7-9 p.m. For the night, Boys 6-11 delivery grew by 10%.
CONAN was on break last week. Meanwhile, the show continued to score strong gains in time-shifted viewing. According to Live + 7 data for the week of April 11, CONAN grew its audience by 14% over Live + Same Day, for a final tally of more than 1 million viewers. Adults 18-34 grew 18% to 508,000, while adults 18-49 grew by 16% to 744,000. CONAN’s median age of 32 was the youngest among late-night talk shows.
TBS’s lineup of original sitcoms on Wednesday delivered strong numbers again last week, climaxing with more than 1.8 million viewers tuning in for new episodes of Tyler Perry’s House of Payne at 10 and 10:30 p.m.
truTV’s hit series All Worked Up, which scored 1.9 million viewers Monday at 9 p.m., and Hardcore Pawn, which delivered 1.8 milion viewers, both ranked among cable’s Top 5 entertainment programs for their respective timeslots among total viewers and key adult and male demos.
Wednesday night’s season finale of Operation Repo averaged more than 1.7 million viewers at 9 p.m. and scored a Top 5 finish in its timeslot among total viewers and key adult and male demos.
Also performing strongly last week were Southern Fried Stings Monday at 10 p.m. and Top 20 Most Shocking Thursday at 10 p.m., both of which wrangled Top 5 timeslot rankings among men 18-49.
