NEW YORK – May 5, 2011 – NBC News’ “Today” continues as the dominant morning news program, topping the competition across the board. On the day of the Royal Wedding, “Today” posted nearly 10 million viewers, its biggest single-day audience and best A25-54 delivery in more than a decade – since November 8, 2000, the day after the presidential elections of George H. W. Bush. “Today” also topped GMA by a whopping one million viewers on the Royal Wedding day. For the week, “Today” posted its best total viewer delivery since the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Last week’s win marks “Today’s” 802nd consecutive week in first place. Below are the highlights for the week.

Week Highlights:

· TODAY averaged 6.424 million total viewers, a +12% (+689,000) advantage over GMA and +142% (+3,774,000) over Early Show.
· This represents TODAY best total viewer delivery since the week of August 11, 2008 (Beijing Olympics).
· TODAY also posted its best total viewer advantage over Early Show since the week of August 11, 2008 (first week of Beijing Olympics).
· On Friday, TODAY averaged 9.628 million total viewers, its highest single-day audience mark since November 8, 2000 (day after Presidential election).
· TODAY has now placed first for 802 consecutive weeks in both homes and total viewers.
· In rating A25-54, TODAY led GMA by +35% (+6 tenths) and Early Show by +188% (+1.5 ratings points). The NBC program also posted its best demo rating since the week of January 31, 2011.
· TODAY also had its best A25-54 (000) gap over GMA in seven weeks (since week of March 7, 2011).
· On Friday, TODAY had its best W/A25-54 (000) deliveries since November 8, 2000.
· TODAY has now won 835 straight weeks in rating A25-54.
· Week-to-week, TODAY was up across-the-board in homes (+18%), total viewers (+19%, or +1,035,000), rating W/M/A18-49 (+32%/+11%/+29%), and rating W/M/A25-54 (+27%/+8%/+21%) while widening its lead over both competitors in homes, total viewers, and rating W/A18-49.
· TODAY grew versus the same week last season by double-digits in homes (+15%), total viewers (+23%, or +1,205,000), rating W/A18-49 (+19%/+20%), and rating W/M/A25-54 (+22%/+17%/+15%).
· Versus season-to-date levels, TODAY was up in homes (+15%), total viewers (+17%, or +941,000), rating W/M/A18-49 (+19%/+11%/+20%), and rating W/M/A25-54 (+18%/+8%/+10%).
· Season-to-date, TODAY has widened its A25-54 (000) advantage to +42% versus a +40% (+734,000) lead during the same period last season.
· Season-to-date, TODAY has increased its advantage over GMA in rating M/A18-49 and rating M/A25-54 versus the same period last season.

TODAY II (9 a.m. hour) and TODAY III (10 a.m. hour) Week Highlights:

· TODAY II delivered 3.905 million total viewers and a 1.1 A25-54 rating.
· TODAY II posted its biggest total viewer delivery since the week of January 31, 2011.
· On Friday, TODAY posted its best single-day deliveries in total viewers and rating A25-54 since February 15, 2010 (Vancouver Olympics) and in rating W25-54 since May 31, 2006.
· For the week, TODAY II topped CBS Early Show in homes (+53%), total viewers (+47% or +1,255,000), rating W/A18-49 (+71%/+50%) and rating W/A25-54 (+50%/+38%) while tying in rating M18-49.
· TODAY II outperformed The View in total viewers (+3%, or +121,000), rating M/A18-49 (+67%/+13%) and rating M/A25-54 (+50%/+10%) while tying in homes, rating W18-49, and rating W25-54.
· Week-to-week, TODAY II posted gains in homes (+16%), total viewers (+14%, or +466,000), rating W/A18-49 (+20%/+29%), and rating W/A25-54 (+15%/+10%).
· TODAY II was up versus the same week last season in homes (+26%), total viewers (+32%, or +943,000), rating W/A18-49 (+33%/+29%), and rating W/A25-54 (+36%/+22%).
· Compared to season-to-date levels, TODAY II posted gains in homes (+7%) and total viewers (+6%, or +219,000).
· Season-to-date, TODAY II has grown by +4% (+149,000) in total viewers , +9% in rating W18-49, +13% in rating A18-49, and +7% in rating W25-54.

· TODAY III averaged 2.281 million total viewers and a 0.7 A25-54 rating.
· TODAY III posted its best total viewer audience since the week of February 21, 2011.
· On Friday, TODAY III had its best single-day deliveries in total viewers since January 17, 2011 (MLK holiday) and in rating W25-54 since February 7, 2011.
· For the week, TODAY III topped Early Show in rating W18-49 (+14%) and tied in rating W25-54.
· Week-to-week, TODAY III grew in homes (+13%), total viewers (+12%, or +248,000), rating W/M18-49 (+14%/+50%), and rating W/M/A25-54 (+11%/+33%/+17%).
· Compared to the same week last season, TODAY III posted double-digit gains in homes (+21%), total viewers (+36%, or +605,000), rating W/A18-49 (+33%/+25%), and rating W/M/A25-54 (+43%/+33%/+40%).
· Versus its season-to-date average, TODAY III grew +3% in total viewers (+58,000).
· Season-to-date, TODAY III is up in homes (+6%), total viewers (+10% or +207,000), rating W/A18-49 (+29%/+20%), and rating W/A25-54 (+22%/+33%).
