The Three Remaining Dance Crews Will Battle it Out to the Music of Kanye West in Next Week’s Episode As We Narrow it Down to the Final Two Crews
Santa Monica, CA (May 20, 2011) — Thursday’s telecast of MTV’s “Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew” (ABDC) featuring Nicki Minaj posted a season high 2.1among P12-34, and is Thursday’s #1 original cable series in its demo for the seventh week in a row. ABDC is delivering 2.2 million total viewers each week, up +22% from season 5.
Next Thursday, May 26 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, the remaining three crews, IaMmE, ICONic Boyz and Phunk Phenomenon, will battle it out to the music of Kanye West. They will perform to West’s top hits including “All Of The Lights,” “Love Lockdown,” “Gold Digger” (featuring Jamie Foxx) and “The Sky.” The crews will have to take the competition to a whole new level, as the search for America’s best dance crew is narrowed down to the final two.
Season six of “Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew” is the “Season of the Superstars” and, for the first time ever, each episode is themed to a popular celebrity artist. Ten new dance crews are taking the stage this season to create dances to master mixes of the artist of the week, incorporating all aspects of the artist’s style — from wardrobe, inspiration and emotion to groundbreaking choreography and skills. Special guest appearances include Ke$ha, The Black Eyed Peas, Katy Perry and Justin Bieber. Themed episodes will be inspired by the hottest names in music including Rihanna, Lil Wayne and more!
“Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew” is hosted byand shot on location in Los Angeles as dance crews perform their hottest moves for dance supremacy and a $100,000 cash prize. Every performance-themed episode gives insight into the crews’ emotion, spirit and inspiration as they step up to the challenge and show off their groundbreaking choreography and skills. Viewers from around the country choose their favorite crews via text messaging, phone and online voting. The two crews with the least number of votes will be up for elimination with judges making the final call on which crew will be sent home. One crew will be eliminated each week, ultimately revealing the nation's best dance crew.
