PBS To Air Commercials During Shows Beginning This Fall

The New York Times is out with a story today noting that, for the first time, PBS will begin airing commercials during (as opposed to just between) shows:

PBS officials told member stations at its recent annual meeting in Orlando that beginning this fall, the Wednesday science series “Nature” and “Nova” would contain corporate and foundation sponsor spots, promotional messages and branding within four breaks inside the shows, instead of at the very beginning and end.

The story goes on to note that commercials breaks would be as frequent as every 15 minutes, and that they would be introduced night by night during the Fall.
