‘Skins’ Cancelled By MTV; Was It Ratings, Or Controversy?

Skins has been cancelled by MTV. The show generated more than its fair share of controversy, and attracted the attention of busybody organizations like the Parents Television Council.

The show’s ratings started high, dipped low, but settled in the 0.5 adults 18-49 range prior to the season finale. Hardly spectacular, but MTV’s Hard Times of RJ Berger was renewed (for a second season, it has not yet been renewed for a third season) with lower ratings.

Did ratings or controversy do the show in? You be the judge.
