NICKELODEON’S “iPARTY WITH ” TOPS CABLE FOR THE WEEK
NICKELODEON CLOSES THE WEEK AS CABLE’S TOP NET IN TOTAL DAY
NEW YORK–June 14, 2011–Nickelodeon’s “iParty with ” (Saturday, June 11, 2011, at 8 p.m. ET/PT) has claimed basic cable’s top spot for the week with total viewers (7.3 million) and all kid and tween demos. The telecast’s strong performance also ranks ahead of the TONY Awards and with total viewers on broadcast TV. The 90-minute original, which united the casts of and , is also the number-one entertainment telecast of 2011 across all TV with kids 6-11 and tweens 9-14.
Led by the strong performance from “iParty with ” Nickelodeon also closed the week (6/6/11-6/12/11) as the number-one total day cable net with total viewers (2.4 million), kids 2-11 (3.5/1.3 million), kids 6-11 (3.4/739,000), tweens 9-14 (2.7/583,000) and kids 2-5 (3.6/519,000). Nick also bested its closest competitor with total viewers (+36%), kids 2-11 (+25%), kids 6-11 (+6%), tweens 9-14 (+8%) and kids 2-5 (+71%).
Nickelodeon’s weekly win was also fueled by strong performances from SquarePants which ranks as the top animated series for the week with kids 2-11 (followed by T.U.F.F. Puppy), kids 6-11 and tweens 9-14. Nickelodeon is also home to the top five telecasts with kids 2-11 for the week.
Nickelodeon’s preschool programming block (Mon-Fri 7 a.m.-10 a.m. ET/PT) boasts the top five preschool telecasts for the week, with Dora the Explorerranking as week’s number-one preschool series telecast, and averaged a 3.4/486,000 K2-5 and 1.5 million total viewers besting its closest competition by double-digits with kids 2-5 (+31%) and total viewers (+4%)
