“GMA” Posts Smallest Total Viewer Margin with NBC’s “Today” in 4 Years, Season-to-Date
“GMA” is Attracting its Largest Audience in 4 Years – Since the 2006/7 Season
“GMA” Continues Growth in Total Viewers Year-to-Year and Season-to-Date:
Marking 22 Consecutive Weeks of Year-to-Year Growth in Total Viewers
ABC News’ “Good Morning America” averaged 4.542 million Total Viewers and a 1.4/11/1.761 million in Adults 25-54 for the week of June 6, 2011. For the 7th time in as many weeks, “GMA” grew from its year-ago performance inboth Total Viewers (+8%) and Adults 25-54 (+4%).
“GMA” stretched its year-to-year Total Viewer increases to 22 straight weeks. In fact, “GMA” improved on its year-ago performance in 35 of 38 weeks of the season-to-date. “GMA” was also up from its year-ago performance in the key adult news demo for 13th time in the last 14 weeks.
Season to date, “GMA” is up the most among the network morning news programs in Total Viewers (+9%) vs. its year-ago average (NBC’s “Today” is up +1%; CBS’ “Early Show” is up +1%), attracting its largest audience in 4 years – since the 2006-2007 season.
“GMA” narrowed its total viewing gap season-to-date with NBC’s “Today” by double-digits (-30% - 810,000 vs. 1.153 million), scoring its smallest Total Viewer gap with the NBC program in 4 years – since the 2006-07 season.
“GMA” more than doubled the performance of CBS’ “Early Show” in both Total Viewers (+107% - 4.542 million vs. 2.196 million) and Adults 25-54 (+103% - 1.761 million vs. 867,000).
Emmy Award-winning “GMA,” featuring the anchor team of Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Sam Champion, Lara Spencer and Josh Elliott, airs live Mon.-Fri. (7:00-9:00 a.m., ET) on ABC. James Goldston is senior executive producer and Tom Cibrowski is executive producer.
