Updated: Cable Ratings: 'Royal Pains' 'Necessary Roughness' a One-Two Punch for USA + 'Franklin & Bash,' 'Challenge Rivals' & Much More

Necessary Roughness and Royal Pains gave USA a stranglehold on Wednesday primetime cable. Royal Pains was up two-tenths from last week's premiere in adults 18-49 to a 1.6 rating. Necessary Roughness shed a tenth of a ratings point, but considering all the build-up and promotion for the premiere, and that it beat its nearest cable competitor in the time slot by 30%, you can be sure USA is pretty happy.After dropping 0.3 with adults 18-49 last week, MTV's Challenge Rivals was back up 0.2 to a 1.0adults 18-49 rating.

Franklin & Bash was up a tenth from last week to a 0.9 adults 18-49 rating.

Toddlers & Tiaras was steady with o a 0.6 adults 18-49 rating. TV Land's Hot In Cleveland was up a tenth versus last week to a 0.6 adults 18-49 rating, and Happily Divorced was up a tenth to a 0.5 adults 18-49 rating.

TNT's Men of a Certain Age was up a tenth versus last week with a 0.4 adults 18-49 rating.

Update: not in the table below but sizable drops for ABC Family's comedies:

Melissa & Joey 1.08M viewers, 0.4 A18-49 (down 0.2 from last week)
State of Georgia 807,000 viewers, 0.3 A18-49 (down 0.3 from last week)
