MTV’s TUESDAY NIGHT RATINGS ARE ANYTHING BUT “Awkward.” 

Teen Mom” Ranks #1 with P12-34 Across All TV with Highest Ratings Since Season Premiere

 “Awkward.” is #1 Original Series in its Time Period

SANTA MONICA, CA (August 10, 2011)—MTV delivers big on Tuesday night with “Teen Mom” ranking #1 with P12-34 across all TV and posting its best ratings since the premiere with a 2.99, and new hit scripted comedy “Awkward.” delivering a series high with a 2.0 P12-34, up 21% from last week.  Additionally, “Teen Mom” had its sixth consecutive week as Tuesday's #1 program across all TV with F12-34, and “Awkward” was the #1 in its time period in that same demo.

Both series return with original episodes next Tuesday, August 16, with “Teen Mom” airing at 10:00 p.m. followed by “Awkward.” at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.

Teen Mom” is executive produced by Morgan J Freeman.  Lauren Dolgen is executive producer, MTV. Kenda Greenwood is co-executive producer.  Jessica Zalkind is executive for MTV.  Concept by Lauren Dolgen.

“Awkward” stars Ashley Rickards (“One Tree Hill”) as Jenna; Beau Mirchoff (“Desperate Housewives”) as Matty; Molly Tarlov (“Huge,” “iCarly”) as Sadie; Jillian Rose Reed (“Weeds”) as Tamara; Brett Davern (“Junk,” “Triple Dog,” ) as Jake; Nikki DeLoach (“North Shore,” “Love and Other Drugs”) as Lacey; Desi Lydic (“Traffic Light,” “Two and a Half Men”) as Valerie; Jessica Lu (“CSI,” “Law & Order: Los Angeles”) as Ming; Mike Faiola (“Seeing Other People”) as Kevin; and Greer Grammer (“iCarly”) as Lissa.

“Awkward.” was created by Lauren Iungerich who also serves as executive producer.  David Janollari, Justin Levy and Anne Marie McGintee are the MTV executives in charge of production.
