Over 2.3 Million Total Viewers 2+ Watched All or Part of Mexico’s Victory in 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup Quarterfinal


MIAMI, FL – AUGUST 16, 2011 – Galavisión, the country’s leading Spanish-language cable network, announced today that its coverage of the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup quarterfinal between Mexico and Colombia averaged over 1.3 million total viewers, making it the fourth most-watched Spanish-language cable telecast in history.

Additionally, the FIFA U-20 World Cup match won 3-1 by Mexico on Saturday night reached over 2.3 million viewers who watched all or part of the telecast.

 

Across key demos, the August 13 match averaged:

  • 1.3 Million Total Viewers 2+ (1,323,000)
  • 826,000 Adults 18-49
  • 427,000 Adults 18-34
  • 616,000 Men 18-49
  • 322,000 Men 18-34

 

Over the first 12 games of the tournament, the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup quarterfinal is outpacing the 2009 tournament telecast by:

  • +272% on Total Viewers 2+
  • +259% on Adults 18-49
  • +262% on Adults 18-34
  • +254% on Men 18-49
  • +255% on Men 18-34

 

Saturday’s Mexico vs. Colombia match was the  #1 telecast among all cable networks for the entire day among:
