Univision Continues Strong Summer as #1 Network Among 18-34

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights - Week of August 15, 2011 to August 21, 2011

  • Univision was the #2 broadcast network in primetime among Adults 18-34, out-delivering ABC (+51%), NBC (+20%), and CBS (+52%) for the second consecutive week.
  • Univision was the #4 broadcast network in primetime among Adults 18-49, out-delivering ABC (+10%.)
  • Univision out-delivered two or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on every night last week among Adults 18-34; Univision also out performed one or more English- Language broadcast networks on every night last week among Adults 18-49.
  • Univision aired 7 of the top 20 programs among Adults 18-34 this past week.
  • Led by “Fuerza del Destino,” Univision ranked as the #1 broadcast network for the week from 9PM to 10PM among Adults 18-34 and ranked #2 among Adults 18-49.
  • From 8PM to 9PM airing “Teresa”, Univision ranked as the #2 broadcast network for the week among Adults 18-34 and ranked #4 among Adults 18-49.
  • Thus far in 2011, Univision continues to be the #3 broadcast network averaging more Adults 18-34 viewers than CBS (+14%) and NBC (+16%).
  • Season-to-Date, Univision continues to post year-to-year primetime audience increases among Adults 18-49 (+7%) while the English-language broadcast networks are reporting audience declines (ABC -8%, CBS -8%, NBC -11%, and FOX -5%); Univision’s audience also increased among Total Viewers 2+ (+6%) and Adults 18-34 (+4%).
  • In its third week on air, “La Fuerza Del Destino” posted its highest weekly performance to-date among Total Viewers 2+ (4.5 million), Adults 18-49 (2.4 million), and Adults 18-34 (1.4 million), The novela also rank as the top-rated program for the second consecutive Friday among Adults 18-49 (2.5 million) and Adults 18-34 (1.4 million.)  Furthermore, the most recent telecast (Friday 8/19/11) was the novela’s highest-rated telecast since its debut on 08/02/2011 averaging 4.7 million Total Viewers 2+ and second-highest among Adults 18-49 (2.5 million).
  • Univision was the #1 network on Friday night among Adults 18-49 and for the 20th consecutive Friday among Adults 18-34.
  • During the summer months, Univision ranks as the #1 broadcast network among Adults 18-34 beating FOX (+4%), ABC (+9%), NBC (+30%), and CBS (+91%.) Univision also posts year-to year audience increases among Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers 2+. 

ü  Univision aired the top 3 programs for the night among Adults 18-34 including the #1 program for the night, “Fuerza del Destino” (The Power of Destiny,)  #2 ranked “Teresa,” and #3 ranked “Rosa de Guadalupe.” Univision’s entire primetime line up delivered more Adult 18-34 viewers than the “NFL Game” on FOX, ABC’s “20/20;” CBS’ “Flashpoint;” NBC’s “Friends With Benefits” and “Dateline.”

ü  Univision’s entire prime line up ranked among the top five programs among Adults 18-49 including the #1 program for the night, “Fuerza del Destino” (The Power of Destiny,)  #3 ranked “Teresa,” and #4 ranked “Rosa de Guadalupe.”

  • On Saturday night Univision was the #1 network among Adults 18-34 attracting more viewers than FOX (+5%), ABC (+39%), CBS (+44%), and NBC (+20%.)

ü  Univision’s “Sabado Gigante” (Giant Saturday) was the #3 program for the night among Adults 18-34 and ranked among the top 10 programs for the night among Adults 18-49.

  • Univision clinched the #1 spot on Wednesday night averaging more Adult 18-34 viewers than FOX (+174%), ABC (+68%), CBS (+9%), and NBC (+26%.)
  • On Thursday night, Univision ranked as the #2 broadcast network among Adults 18-34 beating ABC, NBC, and CBS. Univision aired the #3 (Teresa) and #4 (Fuerza del Destino) top ranked programs among Adults 18-34.

ü  At 10PM, Univision premiered the third installment of “Mujeres Asesinas.” Compared to the prior week, “Mujeres Asesinas” increased the time period by double-digit margins, among Total Viewers 2+ (+13% to 2.0 million), Adults 18-49 (+10% to 1.1 million), and Adults 18-34 (+14% to 665,000). 

  • On Sunday night, Univision ranked as the #3 network among Adults 18-34. Audiences continue to tune in to Univision’s talent competition “Pequeños Gigantes” (Little Giants), the #4 program Sunday night among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

ü  Led by the continued success of Pequeños Gigantes, Univision was the #1 network among Kids 2-11 and #2 ranked among Teens 12-17 for the entire week.

In the Current 2010/2011 Season, TeleFutura Maintains More Nightly Wins over Telemundo versus the Same Period in the 2009/2010 Season Among Adults 18-49

 

 TeleFutura Broadcast Prime Highlights - Week of August 15, 2011 to August 21, 2011

 

  • Last week, TeleFutura attracted nearly 400,000 Total Viewers 2+ (390,000), 229,000 Adults 18-49 and 104,000 Adults 18-34 during broadcast prime (Mon-Sat 8pm-11pm/Sun 7pm-11pm).
  •  Versus prior week performance (08/08/11-08/14/11), TeleFutura experienced audience increases among Total Viewers 2+ (390,000 vs. 374,000; +4%) and Adults 18-49 (229,000 vs. 220,000; +4%) in broadcast prime (Mon-Sat 8pm-11pm/Sun 7pm-11pm).
  •  In the current 2010/2011 Season, TeleFutura maintains more nightly wins over Telemundo during broadcast prime versus the same period in the 2009/2010 Season among Adults 18-49 (81 nights vs. 76 nights).
  •  On Saturday night (August 20, 2011), TeleFutura’s feature film “Cine de las Estrellas Sat 2 : Sombra Guerrera” ("SHADOW WARRIORS I: ASSAULT ON DEVIL'S ISLAND“) which aired from 10pm-12am delivered more Total Viewers 2+ (TF 505,000 vs. TEL 420,000; +20% Adv.), Adults 18-49 (TF 314,000 vs. TEL 267,000; +18% Adv.) and Adults 18-34 (TF 188,000 vs. TEL 139,000; +35% Adv.) than Telemundo’s movie “Cine de Impacto II: Three Kings.”
