NEW YORK JETS LEGEND JOE NAMATH TO VISIT CBS’S “Late Show with DAVID LETTERMAN,” TUESDAY, AUG. 30, THE DAY OF THE “Late Show’S” 18TH ANNIVERSARY ON THE NETWORK

              New York Jets legend Joe Namath will visit the Late Show with DAVID LETTERMAN, Tuesday, Aug. 30 (11:35 PM-12:37 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, the same day the Late Show marks its 18th anniversary on the Network.

Namath, nicknamed “Broadway Joe” by football fans, is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and an icon among the Jets’ faithful.  He is perhaps best known for his bold guarantee of a Jets Super Bowl win over the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III in 1969, and then making good on that promise with the Jets’ 16-7 victory.  Namath is promoting the recently launched 2011 Topps football cards, which include a special insert called “Super Bowl Legends.”

Also on the Tuesday, Aug. 30 broadcast are actor Alec Baldwin and a performance by musical guest Lenny Kravitz.
