This Fall, Animal Planet's widely popular series ANIMAL COPS: HOUSTON returns to the network with 18 never-before-seen episodes. The series follows one of Texas' SPCA's Humane Law Enforcement teams as they investigate cases of animal cruelty, rescue sick and abused animals and fight for justice on their behalf.

This season's cases include the most heavily matted dog the team has ever seen; an investigation of an illegal cockfighting ring; emaciated horses battling for their lives; animal hoarding cases that have spiraled out of control; a daring rescue that puts the team face-to-face with two Bengal tigers; and much more. Each workday brings unexpected challenges and dangers for the Animal COPS team, and the stakes are raised when animal lives hang in the balance.

On this episode of ANIMAL Cops: HOUSTON, a cry for help from a person struggling with animal hoarding reveals one of the most extreme cases the Houston SPCA has ever encountered. More than 60 dogs have overtaken the home, forcing the owner to sleep on the porch. After years of neglect, many of the dogs have become feral and aggressive, and investigator Maverick Wagner makes an unfortunate discovery – the most heavily matted dog he’s ever seen. Blind and deaf, the dog is now in a fight for its life. Meanwhile, Polk County chief investigator, Charles Jantzen, has his hands full when he attempts to rescue a herd of emaciated horses that includes a stubborn mustang.

On ANIMAL Cops: HOUSTON, a suspected dog breeding facility in Austin County warrants a visit from Houston SPCA cruelty investigator Randy Farmer. While visiting the property, Farmer discovers dozens of dogs in poor health – including a springer spaniel on death’s door. The team springs into action, relocating the dogs to a nearby medical team, but can the team’s quick response save the animal’s lives? In another story, Harris county investigator Shawna Sundberg is upset to learn that a neglected dog she’s been monitoring is missing. When she spots a freshly dug grave in the owner’s garden, she fears the worst. Elsewhere, investigator Debbie Michelson assists local police after an illegal cockfighting ring is discovered.

 

ANIMAL COPS: HOUSTON: Frozen

Houston SPCA investigators are called to assist police at a commercial dog breeding facility in Coryell County. The veteran team is shocked to discover more than two hundred Rottweiler, including dozens of puppies. As the team begins to round up the dogs, all hell breaks loose. A freak ice storm hits Texas sending temperatures plummeting below freezing, and the local fire department deems the property unsafe due to high ammonia levels. With a team of vets on standby, the SPCA team dons protective Suits and masks, and races to save as many dogs as they can – a daunting task when they encounter two mountain lions and two Bengal tigers.

On this episode of ANIMAL COPS: HOUSTON, the Houston SPCA is in a race against time to save a mare named Bella that is slowly sinking in a muddy creek. The water is freezing; Bella is exhausted, and a rescue seems bleak. Meanwhile, investigator Debbie Michielson calls for police back up when she faces off against an aggressive dog owner who refuses to surrender his pets. Elsewhere, the SPCA team goes to extreme measures to save a Chihuahua with an injured leg.

Houston SPCA investigator Trischa Price receives the shock of her life when she investigates a property with three starving horses. After giving the owner twenty-four hours to take them to the vet, she returns to the property to discover they’re gone. Price races to locate the horses before they fall victim to hunger. Meanwhile, investigator Maverick Wagner quickly acts to save an emaciated puppy from an abandoned home. Elsewhere, investigator Debbie Michielson comes to the aid of a man who can no longer cope with his 18 dogs.
