August Sizzles As VH1’s Most Watched Month In Primetime Among Adults 18-49 Since February 2010
VH1 Ranks As the Top Cable Network Among Women 18-34 and Women 18-49 In Primetime on Mondays Through August
NEW YORK, August 31, 2011 – VH1 debuted another hit series this past Monday night with the premiere of “Basketball Wives LA.” The 8:00 PM* debut averaged a 1.2 rating in the adult 18-49 demo and drew in 1.8 million total viewers. When combined with its 10:00 pm repeat, “Basketball Wives LA” attracted 3 million total viewers on Monday night.
VH1 expands its successful ‘Basketball Wives” franchise with an explosive new series set in Los Angeles, featuring the wives, girlfriends and exes to some of the hottest players from the Los Angeles Lakers and other legendary teams. This 10 episode, hour-long series dives into the real-life locker room of these leading ladies, giving viewers a never-before-seen look at what it takes to live in La La Land and be connected to a famous professional athlete. For the most part, these women live the life with the best cars, biggest mansions and hottest bling but living the high life is not all glamour and often there is a price to pay. Cameras follow these women as they attempt to juggle their relationships, infidelity issues, children and friendships while trying to find the perfect balance between supporting their families and realizing their own career ambitions.
The series premiere caps off an especially sizzling month at VH1. August was also the network’s most watched month in primetime among total viewers since January 2010, averaging 633,000 total viewers in primetime throughout the month. August was also VH1’s most watched month in primetime among adults 18-49 since February 2010, averaging 405,000 adults.
In addition, VH1 finished August as the most watched cable network among the female demos on Monday nights throughout the month. VH1 averaged 1 million women 18-49 in primetime on Mondays. Among women 18-34, the network averaged 621,000 women in primetime on Mondays for the month.
