ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 4, 2011 –
Golf Channel will showcase Tiger Woods' return to the PGA TOUR this week at the Frys.com Open, his first PGA TOUR Fall Series event and last competitive tune-up in the U.S. before the 2011 Presidents Cup in Australia in November. Golf Channel will air 16 hours of exclusive, live tournament coverage Thursday-Sunday. The Frys.com Open field also will feature 11 other major champions, including multiple major winners Ernie Els, Lee Janzen, Angel Cabrera and 2010 Open champion Louis Oosthuizen.

Broadcast Notes:

· Tiger Woods Makes PGA TOUR Fall Series DebutTiger Woods returns to the PGA TOUR this week in his Fall Series debut. Wednesday, Golf Channel will carry Woods’ press conference live from CordeValle Golf Club (Time TBA).

· Expanded Live Tournament and News Coverage – Golf Channel’s live tournament coverage of the Frys.com Open will expand to four hours Thursday-Sunday, produced in high definition, beginning at 4 p.m. ET. Golf Central Pre Game also will expand to an hour on Thursday and Friday at 3 p.m. ET.

· Rocco Mediate Mic’d Up Friday – Defending champion Rocco Mediate will be fitted with a microphone during Golf Channel’s live tournament coverage on Friday. Viewers will have the opportunity to eavesdrop on conversations between Mediate and his caddie throughout their round.

· Golf Channel on NBC’s Roger Maltbie On-Course Reporter – San Jose native and Golf Channel on NBC course reporter/analyst Roger Maltbie will report from the course during Golf Channel’s Thursday and Friday tournament coverage. Maltbie, who is the 2011 Frys.com Open honoree, also is scheduled to appear during weekend coverage.

· Super Slow Motion Featured – “Super G,” Golf Channel’s super slow motion camera feature, will be on display throughout tournament coverage.

· Headlining the Field – Woods, Ernie Els, Lee Janzen, Louis Oosthuizen, Paul Casey, Angel Cabrera, Rocco Mediate, David Duval, Kevin Na, Trevor Immelman, Tommy Gainey, Robert Garrigus and Jerry Kelly.
