Updated: 'The Chew' Surpasses 'The Talk' By Double Digit Percentages, But...

We don't usually append notes to press releases, but I'll make an exception here: 'The Chew's' results for last week were inflated due to its premiere on 9/26 which had a 0.9 rating with women 18-49, but by the end of the week it was down to a 0.6 rating with women 18-49.  For the full week it ended with a 0.7 rating with women 18-49, lower than the year ago run of 'All My Children" which scored a 0.9 for the same week last year.

• ABC ranked as Daytime’s No. 1 network for the 5th week in a row in Women 18-49 (1.0 rating/655,000 – tie) and for the 11th week running in Women 25-54 (1.3 rating/821,000 – tie).

• During its premiere week, ABC Daytime’s new lifestyle program “The Chew” overshadowed CBS’ “The Talk” by 50% in Women 18-34 (169,000 vs. 113,000), by 17% in Women 18-49 (480,000 vs. 410,000) and by 18% in Women 25-54 (609,000 vs. 515,000).

• “General Hospital” posted a 2-month high in Women 18-49 (746,000) and Women 25-54 (934,000) – since week of 8/15/11.

• In Women 18-49, “General Hospital” (No. 2 -- 1.2 rating/746,000), “The View” (No. 3T – 1.1 rating/723,000) and “One Life To Live” (No. 3T – 1.1 rating/673,000) placed among the week’s Top 3 Daytime programs.
