NEW YORK — October 13, 2011 — BET Networks honors the legacy of the civil rights pioneer Martin Luther King, Jr., with a special day of programming and simulcast of the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Dedication in Washington, D.C. on BET, CENTRIC and BET.com onSunday, October 16 at 11 AM E.T. and 8 AM P.T.

 

Hosted by BET News Anchor Ed Gordon, Correspondent Lola Ogunnaike and special contributor,  Nia-Malika Henderson of the Washington Post, the“Live! M.L.K. National Memorial Dedication” special will feature an opening performance by the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin and an address by President Barack Obama to formally dedicate the Memorial. BET will also feature special programs in tribute to the memory of Dr. King,  includingthe premiere episode of Bobby Jones Gospel and encore airings of BET News Specials: Michelle Obama On A Mission: Impact Africa andAlpha Man: The Brotherhood of M.L.K.
