CBS SCORES EIGHT OF THE TOP 10 ENTERTAINMENT SHOWS IN

ADULTS 18-49

 

Network Wins in Viewers for the Fourth Consecutive Week

 

"NCIS" is the Week's #1 Program

 

CBS is the First Network Since 2002 to Have the Season's #1 Comedy ("Two and a Half Men"),  #1 Drama ("NCIS") and #1 New Series ("2 Broke Girls")

in Adults 18-49

 

CBS Leads Season-to-Date in Viewers, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54

 

            CBS scored eight of the week's top 10 scripted programs in adults 18-49 and won its fourth consecutive week in viewers led by the #1 series NCIS, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Oct.16.           

 

CBS had eight of the week's top 10 scripted programs in adults 18-49, more than all the other networks combined with Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory, 2 Broke Girls, NCIS, How I Met Your Mother, MIKE & MOLLY, Criminal Minds and a rebroadcast of The Big Bang Theory.

CBS also has four of the top 10 programs in viewers (#1 NCIS; #5 Two and a Half Men; #6 NCIS: LOS ANGELES; and #9 The Big Bang Theory) and 12 of the top 20 leading the Network to its fourth consecutive weekly viewer victory (every week this season).

 

For the season, CBS is the first network since 2002 to have the #1 comedy ("Two and a Half Men"), #1 drama ("NCIS") and #1 new series ("2 Broke Girls," tie with "New Girl") in adults 18-49, according to Nielsen most current ratings through the week ending Oct. 16.

 

CBS becomes the first Network to accomplish the ratings trifecta since NBC in 2002 with "Friends," "ER" and "Good Morning, Miami."

 

 

Season-to-date, CBS is #1 in viewers (12.64m), adults 18-49 (3.3/09) and adults 25-54 (4.3/11).

 

For the week in viewers:  CBS (10.62m), FOX (9.03m), ABC (8.62m) and NBC (6.37m).  Season-to-date, CBS (12.64m) is first in viewers followed by ABC (9.53m), FOX (8.68m) and NBC (7.50m).

 

For the week in key demographics, CBS was second in adults 18-49 (2.6/07) and adults 25-54 (3.4/08).  Season-to-date, CBS is first in adults 18-49 (3.3/09) and adults 25-54 (4.3/11).

? 2 BROKE GIRLS was first in adults 25-54 (5.0/11), adults 18-49 (4.3/11), adults 18-34 (3.7/10), second in households (6.5/10) and viewers (10.71m).  2 BROKE GIRLS built on its How I Met Your Mother by +18% in households, +16% in adults 25-54, +8% in adults 18-49 and added +1.82m viewers (+20%).

 

? TWO AND A HALF MEN was first in adults 25-54 (7.0/15), adults 18-49 (5.9/14), adults 18-34 (4.8/12), second in both households (9.7/14) and viewers (16.20m). 

 

? MIKE & MOLLY was first in adults 25-54 (5.0/11), adults 18-49 (3.9/09), second in households (7.1/10) and viewers (11.64m).

 

? Hawaii Five-0 won its time slot in adults 25-54 (3.6/08), tied for first in adults 18-49 (2.7/07, with FOX's late running "House"), second in both households (6.4/10) and viewers (10.07m, -0.17m behind ABC).

 

? NCIS was first in households (11.7/18), viewers (18.98m), adults 25-54 (5.4/13) and adults 18-49 (4.0/11) for the fourth consecutive week.

 

? NCIS: LOS ANGELES was tied for first in adults 18-49 (3.3/08, with ABC), second in households (9.4/14), viewers (15.40m) and adults 25-54 (4.6/10, -0.1 behind ABC).  Compared to last week, NCIS: LOS ANGELES was up +3% in households (from 9.1/14), +2% in adults 25-54 (from 4.5/10) and added +620,000 viewers (from 14.78m, +4%).

 

? Unforgettable was first in households (7.5/12), viewers (11.72m), tied for first in adults 25-54 (3.3/08, with FOX) and second behind FOX's baseball in adults 18-49 (2.3/06).

 

? SURVIVOR: SOUTH PACIFIC was first in households (6.6/11), viewers (10.70m), adults 25-54 (4.4/11) and adults 18-49 (3.2/09).  Compared to last week, SURVIVOR: SOUTH PACIFIC was up +5% in both households (from 6.3/10) and adults 25-54 (from 4.2/11) and +3% in adults 18-49 (from 3.1/09).

 

? Criminal Minds was first in households (8.1/12), viewers (12.87m), second in adults 25-54 (4.6/10) and adults 18-49 (3.8/09).

 

? CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION was first in households (6.9/11), viewers (10.93m), tied for second in adults 25-54 (3.4/08 with ABC).

 

? THE Big Bang Theory was first in households (8.3/14), viewers (13.58m), adults 25-54 (5.8/16), adults 18-49 (4.6/14) and adults 18-34 (3.3/11).

 

? THE Big Bang Theory 8:30PM SPECIAL (R) (S) (8:31-9:00PM) was first in households (7.3/12), viewers (12.10m), adults 25-54 (4.8/12) and second in adults 18-49 (3.7/10, -0.1 behind FOX) against first run episodes of "The X Factor", "Charlie's Angels" and "Parks and Recreation".

 

? Person Of Interest was first in households (7.5/12) and viewers (12.04m).  Compared to last week, Person Of Interest was up +6% in households (from 7.1/11), +5% in adults 25-54 (3.9/09 from 3.7/08), +8% in adults 18-49 (2.8/07 from 2.6/06) and added +470,000 viewers (from 11.57m, +5%).

 

? THE Mentalist was first in households (7.8/13), viewers (12.39m), adults 25-54 (3.5/08) and adults 18-49 (2.5/07).

 

? A Gifted Man was first in households (5.0/09), viewers (7.71m), tied for first in adults 25-54 (1.8/06, with both ABC and FOX).

Note:  DVR penetration is at 42%, up from 38% last year. Last fall, Live+7 audiences for original entertainment series on CBS gained over 1.8 million viewers, on average, over Live+ Same Day ratings, more than any other network.  This season, we expect DVR penetration to continue to increase and, as a result, we expect DVR playback audiences to grow to as well.

NBC – 21.5 hours
