Los Angeles, CA (November 16, 2011) - dick clark productions (dcp) president, Orly Adelson, announced that dcp will produce two red carpet shows for “The 2011 American Music Awards.” They will precede the live broadcast of the AMAs at the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE (8:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT) on ABC.

 

ABC will air a one-hour red carpet show, “Countdown to The American Music Awards” hosted by TV personalities Vanessa Lachey (Winter Wipeout) and Chris Harrison (The Bachelor and Bachelorette).  Ryan Devlin (Cougar Town) will report live from the red carpet, beginning at 7pm ET / PT on November 20th. Hot Chelle Rae will perform their hit songs “Tonight Tonight” and “I Like It Like That.”

 

The live online pre-show, “Coca-Cola Red Carpet Live! @ the 2011 AMAs,” will complement the ABC red carpet show and feature 3 hours of live red carpet coverage beginning at 2:00 PM (PT) / 5:00 PM (ET). Coca-Cola will present the performance of Taio Cruz and Christina Grimmie singing a special rendition of “Higher.” There will also be acoustic performances by Metro Station and Mariana’s Trench. The red carpet live stream will feature hosts Lance Bass, Michael Buckley, Estelle, Sarah Hyland, Mario, Audrina Patridge and Josh Sussman and will be available on ABC.com, Livestream.com, YouTube.com, MySpace.com and through participating media and talent websites and Facebook Fan Pages. Fans can follow the host’s AMA experience and commentary at Whosay.com/amas.

 

Fans will be able to interact with both the ABC and online hosts through Facebook at Facebook.com/amas and via Twitter by adding @officialamas to their tweets and/or using the official show’s hashtag #AMAs. YouTube’s Moderator feature will also be available for fan interaction atyoutube.com/awardshownetwork. On Facebook and across the web, users will be able to engage with the live stream in a fully immersive way through an innovative application powered by Intercast.  DCP and the AMAs are the launch entertainment partner for Intercast's in-banner broadcast syndication, Q&A and polling technology.
