People who can read knew that Pan Am was canceled 11 days ago when ABC made its mid-season schedule announcement and ordered only one more episode of Pan Am as schedule spackle. But sometimes "hope" fogs up the reading glasses. The glasses (and hope) were wiped clean this morning when the lovely Karine Vanasse who plays Colette Valois on the show tweeted:

Well, we received THE call, #PanAm is only coming back for one more episode after Christmas. But up to the end, we'll give it our all !

For good measure and being French-Canadian, she tweeted it in French, too:

C'est confirme, un seul episode de plus en janvier pour #PanAm. J'espere que vous serez la jusqu'a la fin!

It sounds better in French, right?

Update, to clarify confusion between 1 more episode to shoot, and one more episode to air, Ms. Vanasse tweeted: Sorry for the confusion #PanAm fans; We still have 5 episodes to air until February! :)

ABC is maintaining the "it's not canceled and is still in contention for next year" posture, but that's absolutely what it should do especially while the show is still airing new episodes. But, it's canceled and is not really in contention for next year.
