DISCOVERY CHANNEL HAS HIGHEST RATED WEEK OF ALL TIME IN KEY DEMOS

 

--Led by the Networks Popular Programming Discovery Channel has Best Week Ever LastWeek in Primetime with M18-49/18-34--

 

(Silver Spring, Md.)– Fueled by several of its hit series, Discovery Channel produced its best week ever in ratings in primetime, Monday, December 5 through Sunday, December 11 among M18-49/18-34 in ratings and delivery.

NETWORK HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE WEEK:

Monday, December 5

Discovery Channel’s two-hour premiere telecast of American Chopper: JUNIOR VS. SENIOR “The Build-Off” earned a 2.01 HH and a 1.86 P25-54 and was watched by 2.83 million viewers P2+.

Tuesday, December 6

On Tuesday, Discovery Channel’s special American Chopper LIVE: THE BUILD-OFF delivered a 3.13 HH and a 2.98 P25-54 making it the #1 primetime program in all of television among M25-54/18-49/1834 and #1 in primetime cable among P/M 25-54 and M18/49/18-34.  Following American Chopper LIVE: THE BUILD-OFF was the season premiere of Moonshiners, which was Discovery’s highest-rated series launch ever in several key demos with 2.83 million viewers P2+.

Wednesday,December 7

Discovery Channel’s Sons of Guns earned a 2.18 HH and a 1.67 P25-54 making it the #1 program in cable among P25-54 and M25-54/18-49/18-34.  Sons of Guns delivered 3.16 million viewers P2+.  Wednesday’s telecast is now the highest-rated telecast in the Sons of Guns series on Discovery Channel among P25-54 ratings and delivery.  Moonshiners which followed Sons of Guns earned a 2.04 HH and a 1.57 P25-54 ultimately delivering 2.86 million viewers P2+.  Driven by strong performances from Sons of Guns and Moonshiners, Discovery was the #1 network cable primetime with P/M25-54/18-49/18-34.

Friday, December 9

Gold Rush was the #1 primetime program in all of television on Friday evening, among M25-54/18-49 on ratings and delivery.  Discovery Channel out-delivered all of broadcast for the night among M18-49.  Gold Rush drew in 4.65 million viewers P2+ for the night.
