Monday night’s one-hour premiere of the novela “La Que No Podia Amar” (The One Who Couldn’t Love) delivered an average audience of 4.1 million Total Viewers 2+, 2.3 million Adults 18-49 and 1.4 million Adults 18-34. A story of passion, betrayal and unrequited love, “La Que No Podia Amar” follows a young woman’s struggle to be reunited with her true love.
For the entire night, the novela premiere made Univision the No. 2 broadcast network, beating ABC, NBC, FOX and the CW, among Adults 18-34. Monday’s premiere also made Univision the No. 4 broadcast network, beating FOX, among Adults 18-49.
“La Que No Podia Amar” was the fifth most-watched program on all of broadcast television with more Adult 18-34 viewers than the entire line-ups on ABC (“The Bachelor” and “Celebrity Wife Swap”) and NBC (“Who’s Still Standing,” “Fear Factor” and “Rock Center With Brian Williams”) as well as first-run episodes of CBS’ “Mike & Molly” and “Hawaii Five-0.” In fact, the novela out-delivered NBC’s “Who’s Still Standing” and “Rock Center With Brian Williams” among Adults 18-49 with strong audience advantages of +21% and +55%, respectively.
Locally, “La Que No Podia Amar” was the No. 1 broadcast program in the 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. time period among:
- Total Viewers 2+ in Los Angeles and Houston
- Adults 18-49 in Los Angeles, Miami and Houston
- Adults 18-34 in Los Angeles, Miami, Houston, Chicago and Sacramento
In Los Angeles, the premiere of “La Que No Podia Amar” was the No. 1 broadcast program in primetime among Total Viewers 2+ and Adults 18-49.
