A&E’S HIT SERIES ‘’ RETURNS WITH 2.9 MILLION VIEWERS FOR 8TH SEASON PREMIERE
A&E IS THE NUMBER 1 ENTERTAINMENT CABLE NETWORK IN PRIMETIME AMONG ADULTS 25-54 AND 18-49 FOR THE NIGHT
NEW YORK, NY – JANUARY 5, 2012 – Wednesday night’s eighth season premiere of the hit real life series “” was watched by an incredible 2.9 million total viewers and 1.7 million adults 18-49 and 25-54. This marked a 70% increase over its season seven average in adults 25-54 and 18-49 and the strongest season debut for the series since its third season in 2006.
The eighth season premiere was cable’s most-watched entertainment show in the 10pm hour last night and A&E became the number one entertainment cable network in primetime among adults 25-54 and 18-49 for the night.
After delivering a record breaking eighth consecutive year of growth in 2011, A&E Network is having a great week to kick off the new year. Monday night’s season premieres of “” and “Intervention” garnered 2.4 million viewers and 1.8 million total viewers respectively. Additionally, Tuesday’s new episode of the hit series “ ” was watched by 4.9 million total viewers.
