A&E’S HIT SERIES ‘’ RETURNS WITH 2.9 MILLION VIEWERS FOR 8TH SEASON PREMIERE
A&E IS THE NUMBER 1 ENTERTAINMENT CABLE NETWORK IN PRIMETIME AMONG ADULTS 25-54 AND 18-49 FOR THE NIGHT
NEW YORK, NY – JANUARY 5, 2012 – Wednesday night’s eighth season premiere of the hit real life series “” was watched by an incredible 2.9 million total viewers and 1.7 million adults 18-49 and 25-54. This marked a 70% increase over its season seven average in adults 25-54 and 18-49 and the strongest season debut for the series since its third season in 2006.
The eighth season premiere was cable’s most-watched entertainment show in the 10pm hour last night and A&E became the number one entertainment cable network in primetime among adults 25-54 and 18-49 for the night.
After delivering a record breaking eighth consecutive year of growth in 2011, A&E Network is having a great week to kick off the new year. Monday night’s season premieres of “” and “ ” garnered 2.4 million viewers and 1.8 million total viewers respectively. Additionally, Tuesday’s new episode of the hit series “ ” was watched by 4.9 million total viewers.
