NEW YEAR ON A HIGH NOTE WITH DRUGS, INC. RATINGS
Over 4 Million People Tune in to “Crack” and “Hash;”
NGC is Sixth Across Ad-Supported Cable for the Night
(WASHINGTON, D.C. — January 4, 2012) National Geographic Channel kicked off the new year with the highest rated Drugs, Inc. telecast ever, with 4.4 million people tuning in. The new season premieres of Hash on Sunday, January 1, at 9 p.m. averaged P25–54 1.0, and Crack at 8 p.m. averaged P25–54 0.9, with both episodes averaging 0.9 in the demo. This is up 29% from the Season 1 premiere average (P25–54 0.7) and up +125% over the previous six-week time period(P25–54 0.4).
The popular series goes into the lucrative world of illegal narcotics and prescription pain pills, gaining insights from growers, shippers, dealers, cops and addicts. It continues Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT with upcoming episodes covering Ecstasy, Hallucinogens, Ketamine and Pill Nation.
The success of Drugs, Inc., followed by Alaska State Troopers at 10 p.m., pushed the channel into the 10th spot across all networks in prime, sixth in ad-supported cable.
